I again managed to attend Wonder Festival, held at Makuhari Messe. I am happy to report on this 2010 Winter edition, biased toward Maschinen Krieger, as usual. Because I was behind the table more than in the past events, I did miss some of the dealers relevant to Ma.K, and apologize in advance for not covering them.
As always, please note that the pictures are not to be used anywhere else than on this site. In particular, their uses in auctions and other commercial activities are explicitly prohibited.
The same holds for the video clips, which are not to be used anywhere else than on this site. Specifically, they should absolutely not be uploaded on any video sharing sites.
Failure to observe these simple and common-sense rules will result in removal and no future posting of all visual materials relevant to Ma.K on this site. This is to respect those people who gave me permission to post these materials here. I thank you for your cooperation.
If you have a Quicktime plug-in installed, you should be able to watch the clips by clicking the thumbnails, and you will be able to see larger versions of the pictures by clicking on them.
Video Clip: Merging with the early stream of pleople at the Kaihin Makuhari Station
Video Clip: The usual endless and disciplined line of attendees. It's around 7:30am and the doors opne at 10:00am!
Video Clip: After much geusswork as to where we should actually enter, we are in! But of course the Wright bros. decided that everyting should be done _their_ way!
Anyways, we proceeded to our table where a surprise awaited us...
A dealer had already set up their table... in the wrong place!
As the person who appeared to be the "head" dealer left his business card on the table, I suggested we call him to let him know of his mistake so we can set up our table. Diplomacy is key in Japan, and this situation is no exception, particularly when you know you're going to spend the rest of the day with these folks next to you. Linc knew that very well and placed the call in one of the most polite yet determined ways, which is proof that he _can_ stop being a monkey when the situation calls for a break in his daily activity.
Video Clip: The call having been made, all we had to do was wait, mokeying around, of course!
The fastest way to remedy the situation was to swap the tables, which was done while I was at the dealer's administration center (of sort) getting some more paperwork.
With the table set up finally, withness more monkey dancing...
 ... well, you know...
